Minister of National Heritage Dr. Jagath Balasuriya says that five finger prints suspected to be that of the thieves who broke in to the National Museum, have been found.
He said that police has commenced investigations in to this finding.
The minister added that the CCTV cameras where the thieves entered the museum were removed due to repair work.
The Police Media Unit stated that they suspect that the robbers broke in to the department of clay and clothing artifacts, which is situated on the second floor, some time between Sunday night and 8 a.m. Monday morning.
Police said investigations are being carried out into the incident.
