Chief Opposition Whip John Amaratunga urged in Parliament on Saturday that the document responding to the referral on whether the incumbent president could or not contest a presidential election once again, be tabled in Parliament.

Chief Opposition Whip, John Amaratunga expressed these views;
Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva announced in parliament the response of the Supreme Court on whether the President can contest for a third term or not. He read out only two lines stating that the president has no impediment in doing so. Now we here, the opposition does not know anything based on what reasons and facts this determination was passed. So I kindly request you speaker, at the very least, interfere in this matter and table it Parliament so that we too can know.
