The Ministry of Disaster Management states that the construction of houses for all those displaced by the Koslanda landslide will commence within the next two weeks.
Minister Mahinda Amaraweera stated that a secure location has been allocated in the Poonagala area for this purpose. The Minister added that assistance will be rendered by the Army in order to carry out this project.
Measures have also been taken to provide compensation for families who have been displaced by the tragedy.
Meanwhile, Registrar General E.A.M. Gunasekara stated that, that registration of death certificates for those missing in the Miriyebedda landslide have commenced and will be carried out by the relevant divisional secretariats.
He added that death certificates for the deceased can be obtained subsequent to obtaining a accident report from the Divisional Secretariat.
