Several areas have been experiencing heavy mist owing to the inclement weather condition. This is the manner in which areas of Hambantota, Ambalantota and Tangalle have been clouded in mist.
According to our correspondent, this is the first time such heavy mist was experienced in the area. Misty weather conditions were reported from several areas in Chilaw.
In the meantime, the search operations at the site of the Miriyebedda, Koslanda landslide entered its tenth day on Friday.
Security Forces Commander, Central, Major General Mano Perera said that two more bodies have been discovered at the site of the tragedy. Meanwhile, the DMC states that more than 9100 persons have been evacuated to relief camps owing to the risk of landslides and the prevalent weather condition.
The Assistant Director of the DMC, Pradeep Kodippili says that around 2000 families have been currently placed in relief camps.
