The Sri Lanka Army says that search operations will continue on Friday as well in the Miriyabedde area in Koslanda.
Security Forces Commander, central, Major General Mano Perera stated that they will be seeking the assistance of those who have been displaced to carry out search operations. He added that they were unable to locate any bodies on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Met. Department forecasts that bright conditions will prevail over most parts of the country. However, light showers are likely in a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers are expected in a few places in the Uva Province during the afternoon or evening. It is forecast that there may be temporary, localised strong winds during thundershowers. The general public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimise lightning-related accidents.
