Those displaced by the Koslanda landslide continue to be housed at the Poonagala Tamil College.
Central Security Forces Commander Major General Mano Perera said that 57 families who were displaced by the Koslanda landslide will be relocated from the Poonagala Tamil College.
He added that another building at Ampitikanda in Koslanda is being prepared for this purpose. The displaced persons have been provided temporary shelter at the Poonagala Tamil College, Poonagala Primary School, Poonagala Sinhala Maha Vidyala and the Poonagala Kovil.
The total number of those housed at these shelters stands at 1,100 of which 226 were are residents Meeriyabedda. On Tuesday morning, News1st inspected the camp for the displaced that has been set up at the Poonagala Tamil College.
Meanwhile, the continuing search for the remains of victims of the Miriyabedda landslide, was hampered by inclement weather conditions on Tuesday as well.
Security Forces Commander, Central, Major General Mano Perera, who is co-ordinating the search operation, noted that the operation is continuing in spite of the landslide warning issued by the National Building Research Organisation.
Central Security Forces Commander Maj. Gen. Mano Perera said that no bodies or parts were found within the course of search operations on Tuesday.
