The police have decided to put in place a special traffic plan for vehicles along the Marine Drive. The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office said that the decision was arrived at as a result of the traffic congestion that is being experienced in the area.
Accordingly, vehicles can travel along Marine Drive from the Ramakrishna Junction in Wellawatte to the Kinross Place Junction in the direction towards Colombo between 7 a.m and 9 a.m. on weekdays.
The Police Media Unit said that vehicular flow will be restricted from the Kinross Place Junction in Bambalapitiya to the Ramakrishna Junction in Wellawatte, along Marine Drive, in the direction towards Dehiwala between 4.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.
According to the Police Media Unit, the traffic plan will not be in place during the weekend and on other public holidays.
