President says he will not leave room for terrorism to raise its head again

President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that he will leave no room for terrorism to raise its head in the country once again, regardless of the actions of foreign forces.

The President made this statement during an event held to declare open a housing complex for soldiers in the Puttalam District.

This event was held at the Mahauswewa Rathanapala Vidyalaya in Anamaduwa, to handover 101 houses to soldiers. The complex has been constructed in the Puttalam District under the “Api Venuwen Api Housing Project’.

The Presidential Media Unit said that this housing scheme, the 17th phase of the ‘Api Venuwen Api’ housing project is an initiative of the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development.

The residence of Corpral A.M.N.P. Atapattu of the Palali Air Force Base was also declared open. Thereafter, the keys of the houses were handed over to the soldiers at an event held at the Mahauswewa Rathanapala Vidyalaya in Anamaduwa.

According to the Presidential Media Unit, school equipment for the children of soldiers as well as household equipment were donated.
