Koslanda Landslide: Report of investigations to be submitted to President

Police Headquarters says the investigative report pertaining to the landslide which occurred in Meeriyabedda in Koslanda will be submitted to the President within a week.

Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said investigations on the landslide have been launched by a police team under the supervision of an Assistant Superintendent of Police.

However, Minister of Disaster Management Mahinda Amaraweera said the count of missing persons in the Koslanda landslide is fewer that 40.

Central Sector Commander Major General Mano Perera said that a body of a woman was found during a search operation carried out at the said location on Friday.

He further said that during the time, inclement weather conditions, hampered search operations. Major General Mano Perera added that operations in search of the missing will also be carried out on Saturday.
