The Disaster Management Centre says that the number of those missing in the Koslanda landslide tragedy stands at 192. Assistant director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Koddipili said that several bodies have been recovered..
He added that rescue operations are currently underway.
However, the police say that the number of those missing stands at 19.
In the meantime, President Mahinda Rajapaksa landed in Koslanda to look into the situation in the landslide site. After examining the site of the landslide by air, the President visited the Sri Ganesha Tamil School, a shelter for the survivors of the tragedy, to inquire in to their well-being.

Meanwhile, making a special statement in Parliament, Chief Government Whip Dinesh Gunawardena said that the government will bare full responsibility for the children who were orphaned in Koslanda.
According to the Chief Government Whip, 75 children have been orphaned by the tragedy so far.
