We have received aerial visuals of the landslide in Koslanda from our News1st reporters in the area.
According to the Minister of the Disaster Management Centre Mahinda Amaraweera, rescue operations at the scene of the Koslanda landslide has been halted till Thursday due to bad weather.
The rescue operation will begin on Thursday morning. Over 300 people are reported missing following Wednesday morning’s landslide in Meeriyabedda, Haldumulla.
Ten bodies have been recovered so far. Police say that the Koslanda landslide which occurred on Wednesday morning, is the biggest disaster that has taken place in recent times.
Meanwhile, the NBRO has issued landslide warning to the Ella, Passara, Uva Paranagama, Haputale, Haldumulla and Hali Ela areas.
