Four individuals were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in collided with a train in the Rilaula area in Kandana. Police say that a cab had collided with a train plying from Colombo to Ja-Ela at around 3.30 Sunday afternoon.

Police say that the injured are passengers of the cab and added that two of them are in a critical condition. The victims, who are residents of Ja-Ela, have been admitted to the Ragama teaching Hospital.

Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that the cab had attempted to cross the railway line even while the warning lights were flashing, resulting in the accident.
