United National Party Parliamentarian Buddhika Pathirana says the government will not be able to pass the budget with a two thirds majority this time around.
He shared the following views:
It is quite clear today what Ministers and MPs of the Ggovernment come before the media and say in public. What they say is that the government cannot win a two thirds majority in Parliament like they used to. If this government is able to take a unanimous decision on the budget this time around, we will wait and see if they can receive more than 150 votes for the budget when its taken up for the second and third time. If they cannot do this, then this is the first and the most important message ahead of the presidential election. Yes, the people of this country are ready to topple this government. If the people aren’t ready to topple this government, then they are on the wrong path.
MP Buddhika Pathirana expressed these views at an event to distribute high nutrition supplements to children in Akkarapanaha, Yatiyana in Palakele, Matara.
