A case has been filed at the Colombo Magistrate’s Court based on a private complaint, over the importation of tea through the illegal usage of the trademarks Canary Device and Imona, owned by AF Jones, a subsidiary of The Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited.
The Vintage Tea Company and three of its directors have been cited as respondents in this case.
The case was taken up today before Colombo Magistrate Chandima Liayanage.
Attorneys-at-Law Misbah Sathar, Thilanka Polgampola and Ralitha Amarasena, led by Attorney-at-Law Jeewantha Jayathilake, are representing the Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited in this case.
The case will be taken up again on November 27.
