Western Provincial Councillor Hirunika Premachandra who attended a function at Siddhartha College in Sedawatte, Wellampitiya shared these thoughts on the police media spokesperson’s reaction to revelations made by her on drug trafficking.
A haul of drugs was recovered from Sinhapura, Kolonnawa. When this took place, I told them I knew who was selling the drugs and who is involved in this racket. Then the police media spokesperson stated that if Hirunika tells us who this is we will arrest them. This means that I have to tell the police where they sell and distribute drugs. If this is the case there is not point of having a police.
She added:
I will have to wear the police uniform and he will have to become a politician. If I was to do the duty of the police then I will do it better than them. The police must fulfill their duty properly. Don’t ask me where the drugs are without assisting this operation first. I don’t sell drugs , I don’t plan to sell drugs and I don’t know about it.
