Private Medical College students to receive state hospitals training – Petition taken up in SC

The Ministry of Health has agreed to provide clinical training at state hospitals to students of the Private Medical College in Malabe. The decision was reached when a petition regarding the training was taken up before a two judge bench of the Supreme Court today.

The case was taken up before Justices Eva Wanasundara and Chandra Ekanayake.

The Fundamental Rights petition which was filed by five students of the Private Medical College in Malabe, citing the Minister of Health, the Minister of Higher education, the University Grants Commission and ten other officials as respondents was withdrawn during the court proceedings.
