Police Special Task Force Personnel have been deployed to Badulla and Hali-Ela. Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that, this measure was taken after the incident which occurred on Monday evening.
The Police Media Spokesperson said that the police has received eight complaints over post-election violence.
Police Special Task Force personnel were seen in Badulla since Monday night. Clashes broke out between UNP and UPFA Supporters in Hali-Ela on Monday evening.
Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that approximately four vehicles were damaged as a result of the clash. News 1st correspondent Chandana Kuruppuarachchi was also injured while reporting on the incident and was admitted to the Badulla Hospital.
News 1st Correspondent Chandana Kuruppuarachchi was subsequently transferred to a private hospital in Colombo on Monday.
The Police Media Spokesperson added that suspects will be identified after obtaining footage over the incident.
Meanwhile, the Police Media Spokesperson said that police had received a total eight complaints of post election violence.
