There has been a delay in train services owing to a default in the signal lights along the main railway line.

The Colombo Railway Control Room said that the default in signal lights is along the main railway line, extending from Orugodawatta to Pallewela and Negombo.

The reason behind the issue is found to be a defect in the main Railway Control Room.

Accordingly, the main control room has advised each railway station to take over the control of their respective railway signals. This situation has affected train services from Colombo Fort to Polgahawela and vice versa.

The Railway Control Room said that about 50-60 trains are currently scheduled to travel on the rail route.
