The body of a teacher who was buried near a Devalaya in Meedumpitiya, Passara was exhumed on Monday.The exhumation was supervised by the Badulla Acting Magistrate.
The husband of the deceased woman, forty-one-year-old Alankaram Saraswathi, had lodged a complaint with the police, that his wife had been missing since September 1.
Preliminary investigations had revealed that the woman had been buried near a Devalaya in Meedumpitiya, Passara. A twenty-seven-year-old man was arrested in connection with the disappearance. Under interrogation the suspect had revealed the location of the grave.
Alankaram Sarawathi was a mother of one and was a teacher at the Gonakele Tamil College in Passara.
