‘Thanha Rathi Ranga’ screened parallel to International Film Festival

The award-winning film Thanha Rathi Ranga explores a broad array of social issues including armed conflict, social harmony and coexistence. The film was screened in Colombo on Saturday parallel to the Colombo International Film Festival.

Thanha Rathi Ranga was written by Sarath Kothalawala and Kumara Thirimadura with Danushka Gunathilaka lending his talents as the Camera Director.

Director of Thanha Rathi Ranga, Nilendra Deshapriya commenting on the film said:

[quote]My hope is that this will film will contribute towards establishing a non-violent society, a society free of hatred, of not for our generation, then at least for the next generation. A future that we are all hoping for. That is why I made this movie.[/quote]

Thanha Rathi Ranga, directed by the celebrated film director Nilednra Deshapriya, added yet another feather to its cap by winning the award for the best film at the “I Will Tell” International Film Festival. One thousand films had been presented for consideration for the awards ceremony which was held in London yesterday.
