Lawsuit filed against Sarath Fonseka taken up

The lawsuit filed against Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka and Former Captain Senaka Haripriya de Silva was taken up in court again on Thursday

The case was pertaining to an incident which occurred during the 2010 elections where the respondents were accused of harbouring a group of army officers.

The case was postponed to   November 5, and the passport of Senaka Haripriya which was in court custody was released for a period of one month.

Leader of Democratic Party, Sarath Fonseka said:

[quote]bThere are two puppets in the country. One is the Elections Commissioner and other is the Attorney General. These two puppets are operating to deprive the people of democracy and justice in the country. We do not believe that justice will be meted out to us because of these two persons. I request the international community and the UN to take action against them.[/quote]
