Dr. Nimal Gamage, who was arrested over the death of Dr. P.A. Priyangi, was granted conditional bail by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Mohamed Sahabdeen on Wednesday.
Dr, P.A. Priyangi died after the administration of an injection at Doctor Gamage’s cosmetic surgery clinic situated in Bambalapitiya.
The Additional Magistrate set bail at Rs. 50,000 and also ordered the defendant to put forward two guarantors who must be closely related to him, for Rs.500,000 each. Bail conditions included the barring of foreign travel, non-harassment of witnesses, submission of all creams and medicines at his beauty parlour for testing.
He was also ordered to report to the Crimes Division of the Bambalapitiya Police on the first Sunday of every month.The police were ordered to present a report regarding his qualifications as a medical practitioner.
Dr, Gamage was ordered to appear before court again on September 26
