A fire erupted in a mountain top in close proximity to the 18th Bend Road.

The Randenigala Forest Reserve of the Department of wild life stated that the fire erupted due to the dry weather conditions experienced in the area.

The fire had erupted within close proximity to 18th Bend Road in the Balumgala area which comes under the purview of the Randenigala Forest Reserve.

Our correspondent stated the fire had erupted on Monday evening and was ablaze till Tuesday morning. However, the Randenigala forest reserve office stated that the fire had died down naturally on Tuesday morning.
