The Capital Maharaja Organisation’s Sirasa Shakthi Sahana Yathra began its journey from the Head Office of the Capital Maharaja Organisation to drought-affected areas a short while ago.
The vehicles departed to the Polonnaruwa, Ampara and Kilinochchi Districts this morning to provide relief for those who have been affected by the persisting drought.
The journey to provide relief commenced after religious observances at the MTV city office in Braybrooke place.
The Sirasa Shakthi Sahana Yathra programme which was commenced in order to provide relief to those are in dire need, received an over whelming response from the public.
People gathered at three drop-off points in Colombo, Ratmalana and Depanama to make their valuable contribution towards fellow Sri Lankans who are hit by drought. From children to the elderly, individuals from all walks of life gathered at the Head Office of The Capital Maharaja Organisation to assist those who have been affected by the drought.
After hearing for months about the hardship faced by our fellow brothers and sisters, the Sirasa Shakthi Sahana Yathra has granted an opportunity to the public to render their assistance to those in need.
