The number of complaints lodged at the Elections Secretariat ahead of the Uva Provincial Council Elections currently stands at 84.

The Complaints Unit established at the Secretariat said that 54 of the complaints were from the Moneragala district.

Twelve of the complaints lodged pertain to assaults and threats, while 14 other complaints are with regard to incidents where state workers were used for election promotion activity.

Furthermore, seven complaints have been lodged on the misuse of state property while 27 complaints have been received by the Elections Secretariat on illegal election posters and cutouts.
