The Indo-Lanka joint fisheries discussions will re-commence in New Delhi on Friday. Seven officials from the Fisheries Department including its director General Nimal Hettiarachchi are amongst those representing Sri Lanka at these discussions.
Speaking to News1st Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Rajitha Senaratne stated that the discussions will be based on those matters that were discussed in 2012.
Minister Senaratne added that the discussions will also be based on the stand that those Indian fishermen who violate Sri Lanka’s maritime boundaries will be arrested.
