U-Reporters workshop on its 28th phase

The 28th phase of  the U-Reporters workshop was held at the auditorium of the Capital Maharaja Organisation in Colombo on Saturday. The countrywide U-Reporter network contributes instant reports to the news desk inline with the vision of U-Report.

News1st which commenced U-Report to develop Citizen Journalism in Sri Lanka and has become an overwhelming success. Another group of News1st  U-Reporters were enrolled into the citizen journalism initiative subsequent to a workshop held in Colombo on Saturday morning.

The group hailing from different parts of the country arrived for the workshop that took place at the auditorium of the Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited. The News1st team, explained to the participants as to what citizen journalism is and how they can get involved.

They were also briefed on new media techniques. Subsequently, members of the News 1st staff guided the new U-Reporters through the processes followed at News1st.
