Sri Lankan team to investigate allegations of ‘forced abortion’ in Oman

Mangala Randeniya, the General Manager of the Foreign Employment Bureau claims that a Sri Lankan woman who had sought refuge in the Sri Lankan Embassy in Oman alleges that she was forced to have an abortion.

In response to this incident, a team of investigators are set to leave the country on Saturday to look into the allegations.

The team comprises of an Assistant Superintendent of Police, the Directer for Middle Eastern Affairs at the Foreign Ministry and the Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare.
