”Cycle for Life” fund-raiser for heart surgery commences in Jaffna

The Cycle for Life campaign, a fund-raiser organised for Open Heart Surgery at the Northern Central Hospital in Jaffna, commenced on Friday, August 15.

The MTV/MBC Media Network is the media partner of the Cycle for Life campaign organised by the Oxonian Heart Foundation. Sixty students from Jaffna University are participating in the pedal-off.

Following religious observances at the Nallur church in Jaffna in the morning, the group arrived  at the Kailasappillayar Kovil in procession. The pedal-off was then inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of the Jaffna University, Wasanthi Arasaratnam.

The cyclists are to arrive in Colombo on Sunday, August 17 after visiting Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Medawachchiya, Anuradhapura, Kurunegala and Ambepussa.
