On Wednesday, August 13, UPFA Parliamentarian Thenuka Vidanagamage and UPFA Uva Provincial Council Candidate Anura Vidanagamage, convened a media briefing

Uva Provincial Council’s UPFA Candidate, Anura Vidanagamage shared these views:
We did not go in a vehicular procession on that day. Our vehicle did not have a poster or blue flag or anything of the sort. Several of my friends accompanied us. The District Secretary had given me permission to travel upto Rideepana. He asked me to come to the Kachcheri alone from there on wards. He said that only I had authorisation. I was not allowed to go up to Rideepana. We were stopped near the Loggal Oya Reservoir and this official detained me in Meegahakivula until 4:30.
UPFA Parliamentarian, Thenuka Vidanagamage also expressed views:
Some persons are employing officials to restrain Anura Vidanagamage’s victory as it will pose an obstacle to their politics. This is not the first instance that this official has acted in this way. He has done so at previous elections as well. Therefore, I make an appeal of the Elections Commissioner. This officials is being steered by a certain person who cannot bear to see the work that Anura Vidanagamage is doing.
