Five million rupees have been granted to the police for the removal of illegal banners and posters with regard to the upcoming Uva Provincial Council Elections.

Issuing a communique, the police stated that the Elections Commissioner released this money to the police. Police added that officers have been deployed to remove illegal election propaganda in the Monaragala and Badulla areas.
