Health trade unions point out that the trade union action launched by health workers citing five main concerns has caused over 4000 surgeries to be postponed.

They charge that health sector officials should take the responsibility for the inconvenience cased to patients.

Health workers attached to 27 professions took part in the trade union action July 30 by calling in sick.

Health workers involved in admitting patients, accompanying them to surgeries as well as discharging patients took part in this protest.

The trade union action caused the disruption of day-to-day activities at hospitals.
