Super Fighter finalists return to their hometowns amidst public cheer

Bhanuka Jayampathi and Sandeepa Samarasinghe, the finalists of Super Fighter, Sri Lanka’s first ever sports reality programme, returned to their home-town on July 18.

They received much cheer from sports fans who gathered on either side of the road.

Bhanuka Jayampathi, who was adjudged the best boxer at Sri Lanka’s first ever sports reality programme, is a student of the Vidyaratne Science faculty in Horana.

Sandeepa Samarasinghe, also from the same school, was adjudged the winner in the 60-kilogramme weight class.

Sri Sumangala Vidyalaya in Panadura had organised the main event to welcome both Bhanuka and Jayampathi.

Subsequently , Bhanuka Jayamapathi arrived at his home town of Alubomulla.

The Bandaragama Pradeshiya had also organised another event to welcome both Bhanuka and Sandeepa.

Subsequently, they were welcomed by the Vidyaratne Science faculty in Horana.

Another event was organised at the Govinna Primary School to welcome Sandeepa to his hometown.

Subsequent to attending the event in Ingiriya, Bhanuka and Sandeepa reached Horana.

A special event to felicitate both the young boxers for bringing glory to their alma mater was held in Horana.

An exhibition bout took place thereafter.
