President Mahinda Rajapaksa has offered his condolences to the lives lost in Gaza.

President’s Spokesperson Mohan Samaranayake said that the head of state had telephoned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and discussed the situation in Gaza.

According to international reports, more that 178 people have been killed by Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip.
