Super Fighter Grand Finale to take place on Sunday

Super Fighter ‘The Final Bouts’ – a reality show with the biggest prize money to the winners, a show that gives raw Sri Lankan talent a chance at glory – will take place on July 13 at Stein Studios from 6 p.m. onwards, 

Eight true Sporting Stars, will compete under four weight classes for a grand prize of  Rs. 3.6 million! 

Following are the aspiring boxers who will battle one last time for the grand prize; 

Ishanka Sanjaya of Vidyartha College Kandy Vs Krishna Menan Sindujan of Royal College Colombo under the 49KG weight class. Lasith Randeepa Dassanayake of Kingswood College Kandy will take on Buddhika Manaram of Kalyana Pradeepa Pirivena Gampaha, under the 52 Kg weight class.  Banuka Jayampathi of Vidyarathna University College Horana Vs Nuwan Kumara Amarawansha of Peradeniya Madya Maha Vidyalaya under the 56 kg weight class. Under the 60 kg weight class, Sandeepa Samarasinghe of Vidyarathna University College Horana, will compete against Lakshan Liyanage of Ananda College Colombo. 

Super Fighter commenced in Gampaha and covered all districts in the country, with over 10,000 participants, in twenty five districts. It is a journey that  created national unity. Tto find these 4 sports stars. 128 boxers qualified for the second round, while it came down to 64 in the third round. 

From its early beginning, selection trials were conducted across the country under four weight classes to select these 32 contenders to compete in the quarter finals of Super Fighter.

The quarter final bouts were held at the picturesque Galle Fort, in a boxing ring built according to international standards. This was incidentally the first time in Sri Lankan sporting history that a boxing match of this nature was being held at such a location. Sixteen players competed in the semis amidst all grandeur in Galle harbour.
 
The Organisers of the event are confident of achieving their vision of uncovering rare talent in these boxing stars, where the goal of Super Fighter, the joint initiative of MAS Holdings, News1st, MTV and MBC is to bring forth a Boxer who can represent Sri Lanka at the 2020 Olympics and bring glory to his country.

In line with the final a specially produced theme song called Mage Sihinaya or My Dream performed by the popular Chithral Somapala was also released.
