Deputy President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa arrived in the island on Monday morning, kicking off an official visit.
The Ministry of External Affairs says Ramaphosa will hold discussions with the government and other political representatives on the reconciliation process in Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, Australia’s Immigration Minister Scott Morrison is due to arrive in Sri Lanka on July 9.
The Ministry of External Affairs notes that the purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral ties between Sri Lanka and Australia.
The Ministry added that steps taken to combat people smuggling will also be discussed during Morrison’s visit.
Morrison is scheduled to meet with President Mahinda Rajapaksa and senior government officials during his visit.
