Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana notes that they are yet to receive the resignation letter of police constable Suminda Saman, who was attached to the Motor Traffic Division of the Southern Expressway.

The officer stated on Tuesday that he had taken this decision as he could no longer hope for a fair investigation into incidents that occurred to him.
I have handed in my letter of resignation to the Police Headquarters. I made this decision because I want to protect my wife and two children. Everything began after I issued a sport fine to Minister Hemal Gunasekara. I can no longer carry out my duties. If I was burnt in my car on that day, I wouldn’t be able to speak with you .
Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana, speaking on this incident, stated that steps will be taken to carry out a fair and impartial investigation.
