The Bar Association of Sri Lanka has taken steps to provide legal aid to parties aggrieved by the recent unrest in Aluthgama and Beruwela.
Attorney-at-Law Ajith Pathirana, secretary of the BASL, says the association will support and provide legal aid to individuals who are seeking legal address, but does not have the strength to pursue this avenue.
He added that a group of lawyers, including himself, had visited the area on Sunday and had met and held discussions with aggrieved persons.
