The Colombo National Hospital says that the two injured individuals were in critical condition at the time of admission
Investigations have already been launched into the shoot-out that took place in the Andrews Watte area in Grandpass on Sunday night.
Police state that two individuals died in the incident. Two others who sustained injuries have been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
Director of the Colombo National Hospital Dr. Anil Jasinghe stated that both individuals were in a critical condition at the time they were admitted. Police suspect that the shooting took place in connection with a drug racket.
Speaking to News1st , Police Media Spokesperson, SSP Ajith Rohana stated that the incident had occurred at around 8.30 p.m on Sunday.
SSP Ajith Rohana stated that four persons were injured in the shooting that took place in Grandpass, and two of them died after being admitted to the hospital.
Police Media Spokesperson stated that the alleged criminals who carried out the shooting had come to the scene of the incident in a motorcycle which had been later abandoned.
SSP Rohana further stated that no suspects have so far been arrested in connection to the shooting.
