Chief Justice Mohan Peiris say that training to become law abiding citizens must begin from the family.

He made this statement at an event held in Maharagama on Friday.
My friends, it is through the smallest unit of society, which is the family, that we should begin to learn how be law abiding citizens. The youth of today should pass on their skills and cultural traits to their children through this we can achieve the bright future that we hope to establish. Through out our journey, we cannot let go of the religious values that we keep dear to heart. My brothers and sisters, I would like to remind you all that those who let go of these values will be accountable for the gradual down fall of our entire government system , our nation and our country.
The Chief Justice made this statement during the finals of the best youth leader competition organised by Sri Lanka youth.

The title of Best Youth Leader was won by Harsha Perera from Polgasowita.
