Schools in Beruwala and areas that fall under the purview of the Aluthgama Police open on Monday.
Prasanna Ranatunga, chief minister of the Western Province, says that nine schools that are currently providing refuge to security personnel and a number of individuals who have been affected by the recent unrest will remain closed.
Therefore, Aluthgama Maha Vidyalaya, Sri Gnanissara Maha Vidyala, D.S. Senanayake College, Kaluwamodara Middle School and Beruwala Roman Catholic College will stay closed.
The Chief Minister added that Al-Humai-zara College, Zahira College and Zamzudeen Muslim College will also be closed.
