Thousands of devotees pay homage to sacred hair relics on Day 2 of Uva Poson Zone

Uva Poson Udanaya, the Poson Zone organised by the Uva  Paranagama United Buddhist Organisation with the support of News1st, commenced on Thursday.

The Uva Poson Udanaya Poson Zone is centred around the Sri Sudharshanarama Viharaya in Uma Ela, Uva Paranagama.

News1st is the media sponsor of the Poson Zone, organised by the Uva Paranagama United Buddhist Organisation.

The sacred hair relic of the Lord Buddha journeyed from the Yatihalagala Raja Maha Viharaya in Kandy to the Uva Poson Udanaya Poson Zone on Wednesday evening.

Our reporter says that devotees flocked in their thousands  on Thursday evening to pay homage to the sacred hair relic. Devotees visiting the Uva Poson Udanaya, also have the opportunity to take in the many Pandals that have been constructed there, performances of songs of devotion and a replica of Mihintale.

Dansalas established at the Poson Zone are open today as well. The Poson Zone also features screenings of the award winning biographical film Sri Siddhartha Gautama and News1st screen tests.

Devotees queued up  on Friday as well to pay homage to the sacred hair relic. The exposition of the sacred relic will continue until midnight.
