President Mahinda Rajapaksa will leave for Bolivia in the South American continent on Thursday to attend the the G 77 Summit.
Presidential Media Spokesperson Mohan Samaranayake stated that several state officials will be accompanying the president to the summit.
The Group of 77 at the United Nations is a loose coalition of developing nations, designed to promote its members’ collective economic interests and create an enhanced joint negotiating capacity in the United Nations.
There were 77 founding members of the organization, but by November 2013, the organization had since expanded to 133 member countries.
The G 77 Summit will be held in the eastern city of Santa Cruz in Bolivia from June 14-15.
