A body of a woman reported to be missing for eight days has been found in a jungle in the Kehelulla area in Padhiyathalawa.

Police stated that the body was discovered at around 4.30 p.m. Sunday.

The deceased was a 72-year-old female resident of the Kadupahara area in Kehelulla.

It has not yet been revealed whether the death of the woman was a result of murder or suicide.

Police stated that investigations have been launched in this regard.
