A businessman has been shot dead in Moneragala.

Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana stated that the incident occurred at around 9.30 p.m. Sunday.

According to the police, the deceased was returning home after he had visited his wife, who had been residing in a relative’s house after giving birth to their child.

Police added that two individuals who arrived in a motorcyle had fled the area after shooting the businessman.
