The Mirihana Police Special Investigations Unit has interrogated Deputy Minister Hemal Gunaratne.

The Police Media Unit said that he was questioned in connection with an attack he allegedly launched on an on-duty police constable attached to the Southern Expressway division.

The Police Media Unit noted that a statement from Deputy Minister Hemal Gunaratne has been recorded.

The police constable was attacked and his vehicle torched by an unidentified group in Bombuwela, Dodangoda recently.
