The Air Force says that the parts found by a group of fishermen who set out to sea from Moragolla in Aluthgama can be those belonging to an aircraft.
Air Force Spokesperson Wing Commander Gihan Seneviratne said that an air force officer was deployed to examine the recovered parts on Thursday.
The spokesperson further said the parts which were handed over by the fishermen to the Moragolla Police have been taken under the custody of the Air Force.
While it has not been ascertained whether the parts belong to an air force air craft, Wing commander Gihan Seneviratne said it can be from some other air craft.
