A protest has been held by a group of students of allied health services and trade unions of the Government Nurses Officers Association, causing heavy traffic along Dean’s Road in Colombo and other roads in the area.

Our correspondent said that the protesters are demanding that the three-year degree of allied health services be extended to four years.

The protest march, which commenced in close proximity to the Colombo National Hospital, later headed towards Maradana via Dean’s Road in town hall and then reached Pettah. Fort is reported to be the last stop of the protest.
