President Mahinda Rajapaksa is slated to address the fourth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia..

The meeting is scheduled to commence in Shanghai, China on Wednesday.

A special dinner was hosted by Chinese President on Tuesday.

Several world leaders including the President of Afghanistan Hameed Karzai, Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudiono participated at the welcome banquet held at the Shanghai International Conference Center for Tuesday’s welcome dinner.

General Secretary of the United Nations, Ban Ki- moon also participated at the welcome banquet.

President Rajapaksa who arrived at the Shanghai International Conference Centre was welcomed by the President of China Xi-Jin-pin. The banquet which was hosted by President Xi Jing Ping was followed by a cultural event.
