Driver attacked in Alawwa allegedly assaulted again

The driver of a train who came under attack by a group of commuters at the Alawwa Train Station  on Tuesday morning has been assaulted again in Maradana.

The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office noted that after the protest at the Alawwa Train Station, the driver had driven the train upto Maradana. During this time he had come under an attack again, the driver had noted in the complaint he lodged with the police.

Police stated that two suspects have been arrested with regard to the alleged assault. Earlier,  the Railways Control Room said the driver was assaulted by commuters claiming the train was delayed.
